The sanctions imposed on Iran by the government of the United States have had many negative consequences. One of these consequences is the new travel regulation issued in March 2017, based on which Travelers who have visited Iran and a few other countries may face restrictions for visiting the US. As a result, many travelers feel concerned about visiting Iran and become discouraged by these restrictions.
From September 2018, travelers’ passports will not be stamped upon entrance to or exit from Iran.
However, the Iranian government has issued a new rule in an attempt to circumvent the US travel restrictions for those who visit Iran and to reduce travelers’ concern. From September 2018, travelers’ passports will not be stamped upon entrance to or exit from Iran. The stamp will instead be put on their Iran tourist visa confirmation letter. Therefore, any issue regarding future trips to the US can be avoided, as there won’t be any document of visiting Iran. The stamping of travelers’ passports is now waived at all international airports in Iran and travelers can travel to Iran without any concern regarding visa stamping.
